LED TELEVISIONS

In our spare time, we’ve been refining an old design: The LED TV. 

We’ve always thought that this element was really special on stage and there’s always room for improvement… With a new mounting structure and some tighter pixels (now in 3mm AND 6mm!), we’re having a bunch of fun playing with these in the new studio. 

With enough time, we want to build an entire wall of these, or enough to litter a performance stage. Looking forward to more testing and R&D! 

We also built out a Raspberry Pi video server so that we can leave content running without one of our larger format servers being used up. 

We utilized the OMX Player which is really rad, and provides some flexibility while maintaining an almost bulletproof playback reliability. 

After some changes to the root config (such as forcing resolution upon the Pi’s outputs and disabling it’s ability to query any smart monitors for their resolution), we have our machine ready to go with the LED TVs for plug and play.
